Gearing Hall is home to the School of Human Ecology, which houses several College of Natural Sciences departments and majors, including human development and family sciences, public health, nutritional sciences, and textiles and apparel.
The building was built in a Spanish Renaissance style. The School’s Department of Nutritional Sciences has many faculty in Painter Hall, while the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences has its home in the Sarah M. and Charles E. Seay Building.
With Gearing Hall behind you, the building across 24th Street on the corner to your left is Painter Hall. Proceed diagonally across 24th to visit Painter.
