PMA is home to three College of Natural Sciences departments: Math, Physics, and Astronomy. One of the many hands-on experiments physics students and faculty conduct is a watermelon drop from atop the building, applying concepts of speed, acceleration, and velocity. PMA has its own telescope and stargazing parties and contains the world-famous, high-power Texas Petawatt Laser in its basement.
Go back down Speedway in the direction you came (south, toward the canoe sculpture). Cross 24th street. Welch Hall is the first building on your right.
